New energy consultancy formed
MARKETING ASSISTANCE FORMS NEW ENERGY CONSULTANCY

After working as the marketing function and back office for the past eighteen months Marketing
Assistance Ltd today signed an agreement to form a new consultancy in conjunction with Blain
Swan Associates. The new company will offer energy consultancy services to both industrial and
commercial locations throughout the UK using an existing established team of engineers.
Blain Swan’s traditional main service area has been conducting energy audits which identify potential
savings in all forms of fossil fuel derived energy. A two to four day audit can often demonstrate
potential savings of around 25% and sometimes more. In certain circumstances the cost of
the survey may be recoverable in its entirety through the government sponsored Carbon Trust
making this a sure fire-way for companies to save cost at nil expense to themselves. All Blain
Swan engineers are fully Carbon Trust accredited.
In addition to auditing current spend Blain Swan can provide other engineering services in connection
with energy. Bill validation is popular with the service checking energy invoices for accuracy
and sharing the savings with the client company. Reverse auctions of energy are a way for a
company to secure future supplies of energy at a known fixed cost and can be very attractive to
large energy users.
Marketing Assistance Ltd will continue to provide its existing marketing support both on an ad
hoc and retainer basis whilst contributing dedicated staff and facilities to the Blain Swan operation.
This adds to the number of companies for which the company undertakes the complete marketing
function on an outsourced basis. This is an increasingly popular strategy to help offset difficult
market conditions as it spreads the cost of establishing and paying for the marketing infrastructure
and investment across a number of companies bringing benefits across the board.
